For vintage lovers in Spokane, the first weekend in June has long meant early alarms, road trips, treasure hunting and gathering with their friends and family who understand the thrill of finding something truly special.
As one much loved chapter comes to a close, a brand new one is beginning.
The Great Junk Hunt is officially taking over the historic June weekend at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center! 🎉
And for our founder, Linda Albers, this isn’t just another new city on the schedule. It’s a homecoming.
Where the Hunt Began
Linda grew up in the Spokane area in Deer Park, where her mother introduced her to the fine art of junkin’.
Long before The Great Junk Hunt existed, there were garage sale signs to follow, forgotten pieces to rescue and treasures waiting to be discovered. Linda learned that the best finds aren’t always shiny and new, sometimes they might be tucked in a dusty corner, hiding under a dilapidated table and just waiting for someone with a little imagination to see what they could become. Those days spent junkin’ with her mother planted a seed, and years later, that love of treasure hunting grew into The Great Junk Hunt, where her creativity and joy in bringing people together could shine.

Today, that passion has grown into a true family tradition. Linda now works alongside her son, JT, who plays a central role in managing and shaping The Great Junk Hunt as they bring the joy of junkin’ to communities across the country. Three generations of our family are now connected by the exact same love of discovering forgotten treasures. It’s a tradition that began with Linda's mom, inspired Linda's journey, and is now totally shaping the future of our company.
The opportunity to bring the business we built as a family back to the exact place where that love of vintage started? Cue the happy tears! 🥹
Now, after producing memorable vintage markets across the country, we are bringing the Hunt home to the place where Linda’s story began.
A New Chapter for a Very Special Weekend
We know the first weekend in June means something to Spokane.
For more than two decades, vintage lovers, makers, collectors and creative small businesses owners have traveled from near and far to gather in Spokane. It has become more than a shopping weekend. It’s a tradition for many that is filled with friendship, inspiration and some seriously good junk.
We honor what this weekend has meant to so many people.
And while we’re not coming to recreate the past, we are thrilled to help begin its next chapter. The Great Junk Hunt will bring its own signature energy, style and joyful chaos to Spokane. Think inspiring vendor displays, one-of-a-kind finds, those retro tunes you’d like to bust out in a move to, photo worthy moments and aisle after aisle of treasures you simply won’t find at the big box stores. Because around here, shopping should feel like a party.
