Bigger and Better in Monroe...

Nestled about 35 minutes north of Seattle Washington is a town called Monroe. It is a friendly place with lots of antique and vintage shops to discover. Not too far from downtown is the Evergreen State Fairgrounds that gets filled up twice a year with funky junk, handmade goods, local music and lots of laughter. Yes, this is where we host The Great Junk Hunt Vintage Market. This market was a success from the beginning, wonderful hand selected vendors with big crowds coming in from all over the western Washington area.

We've hosted our vintage market in Monroe at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in the commercial building since we started in Feb. of 2016. As you can tell from the picture, not the most updated or best looking building in the world, but it served it's purpose. We have quickly outgrown this building and are ready to move onto the next chapter.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be moving next door into the Gary D. Weikel Event Center. This event center is still within the Fairgrounds property, in fact it is about a hundred feet away. We are thrilled about this because the building is new and updated with plenty of space for the big crowds that come. There will plenty of room for strollers, wagons and carts to hold all your new found treasures. Oh, and guess what? It has bathrooms inside the building! No more walking to the building next door to tinkle! The Weikel building is 35,000 sq. ft. which means that there will room for more vendors and that means more FAB jUnK for shoppers to discover.

Just imagine this huge room filled with vintage and handmade goods.

So come see for yourself all the Farmhouse Funk, Industrial, Vintage, shabby chic, mid-century and handmade goodness all under one roof! Our fall show is November 10 &11, 2017. Share it with your friends and make plans to attend today!

xoxo Linda

Hot off the press...The Great Junk Hunt Official Trailer

Here is a good look at the market that started it all! The Great Junk Hunt in Puyallup started in a small gym and has grown to over 30,000 sq. ft. at the Washington State Fairgrounds! We have over 120 vendors with awesome Junkin goodness and thousands of shoppers to the show.

Now with shows in multiple cities across the west coast, we are spreading our junk love! Our happy junkers are what really make our show special and worth doing what we do. We hope to see you at our next show in your area!

Funky Junk Sister, Linda Albers, created an event for junkers to come together to buy and sell all things vintage, upcycled and unique. Formally known as Junk Salvation by the Funky Junk Sisters, this show has won several awards for best flea markets in America. Come see what all the fuss is about!

How to shop the booths at The Great Junk Hunt Vintage Market

1. Want the coolest stuff? Be an early bird shopper. Take advantage of purchasing an early buy ticket, it will get you in before the crowds and you'll be able to get the cream of the crop.

2. Bring cash. Cash will get you the best price and many vendors don't take credit cards.

3. Bring a shopping cart or a wagon, it will save you trips to the car. Throw some recycled shopping bags in there too, many vendors run out of bags in the first couple of hours and the bags prevent things from rolling around in your cart.

This is the wagon we use when we head out to markets.

4.  Make a list of the things you are looking for before you go, chances are you will be enticed by many things, but at least you will remember your mission. It's a bonus if you come home with some extra treasures!

5. If you really like something buy it now! Don't wait, at a recent sale we had 4 ladies wanting the same set of orange lockers....one lucky woman was a minute sooner than the other three....she took them home.

6. Take a good look. Stop at all the booths and glance around...a lot of fabulous junk is displayed on top of things. Take time to scan high and low, even if it looks like they have nothing you want. There just may be some hidden treasures in there.

7.  Don't forget to ask the vendors if they have something you are looking for, They are a wealth of knowledge...remember they've been doing this sorta thing for a long time, maybe they know where you can find something.

8. We always say... you should circle around the market a few times, you might see something you missed before.

9. If you are a bargain shopper...wait til the last day. You may not get the trendiest items but you will definitely get the best deals. OK junk peeps...we will see ya'll at one of our next shows. See the rest of the 2016 lineup below.
